And why you should join.

Hi,

I’m Joe Youngblood and I built this website after decades of watching my designer friends struggle to find new work with clients in the local area while simultaneously watching business struggle with overseas designers and design shops located far away that often didn’t deliver what they promised.

WebDesigninDallas.com is a Managed cooperative group open to any website, graphics, video, or data designers that live in the Dallas area. Our goal is to help businesses owners connect with local designers that they can discuss projects with over a cup of coffee or at their place of business.

There are a few rules to being eligible to join this coop. First off, you can not work at a design agency in any capacity. If you run your own design agency where you are the sole designer, then that is fine, but if your shop grows you are no longer eligible to be listed here.

These are the types of designers eligible:

• Freelance web or graphics designers that only do design work.
• Single-designer agencies that only do design work.
• Full-time designers who work at a non-design focused company in a design department seeking part-time additional work.

These are ineligible to join

• Freelance designers who also manage marketing, social media, pr, SEO, or advertising.
• Designers who work at a design agency and are seeking additional part-time work.
• Design agency owners where they have multiple designers working under them.
• Marketers who do part-time design using only freely available tools such as Canva.
• WordPress or other CMS designers who only swap out content in purchased themes with stock graphics or photography.
• Web developers or programmers who do not do their own graphics design, visual artistry, or website design.
• Mobile app development shops or agencies
• AR / VR development shops or agencies

How it Works: The Basics

1. Once approved we’ll start building a profile for you. You’ll get an email requesting a few things including a headshot to use and design portfolio examples.
2. Whenever a lead comes in via your profile it will come directly to your email. We’ll also work with clients to find the right designer to work with and notify you of any clients we think would be a good fit.
3. You’ll be in charge of working out pricing and collecting with your clients. We do not handle any payments or take anything from you for being a member.
4. As a member of WebDesignInDallas.com you’ll get certain perks as we progress. We’ll also continually build out features of this website to help generate more leads and revenue for your freelance work as time goes on and provide more opportunities to help you market your services to prospective clients. These include:

   • Eligibility to take a free course on SEO for Web Designers
   • Negotiated group discounts to online tools and resources
   • Ability to do a ‘graphic takeover’ on this site
